Bring your favorite antique to the First Annual Coastal Region Library Antique Appraisal Fair. Professional antique appraisers will be present to help determine the value of your item. Appraisers will provide a free verbal appraisal for your item. We have six appraisers scheduled, with a wide variety of specialties. General appraisers, dolls, childhood memorabilia, stamps, jewelry, books, toys, coins, paper documents, pottery, textiles, and military items!

Stampin' Up!® Card Making

card-makingAdults can join experts for a fun-filled class creating handmade cards. Learn special card making techniques, such as rubber stamping, embossing, die cutting, punching, and embellishing. Attendees will create two separate greeting cards to take home. Classes are free, but registration is required due to limited attendance.

Pre-GED Tutor Workshop - Make a Difference!

Volunteer-HandsMake a difference and help other adults reach their personal and career goals. Attend our free hands-on workshop on how to be an effective Pre-GED tutor, instructor, or class assistant for the Library system's Pre-GED program. The training will cover various topics, such as: 2014 new GED Exams, literacy facts, classroom management techniques, learner motivation and goal setting, specific Pre-GED curricula, and multiple print and online resources. No prior teaching experience is needed. Space is limited. Patrons can register by calling Literacy Services at(352)628-5626.
