The Ridge Readers' Book Club Host Author Tim Dorsey

tim-dorsey1The Ridge Readers' Book Club would like you to join us in welcoming author Tim Dorsey to our library system.

There are a lot of creative ways to kill off characters in novels, and best selling author Tim Dorsey takes home the prize for using some of craziest methods around. Anti-hero Serge A. Storms travels around Florida dealing out his own unique brand of “justice”. Part tour-guide, part psychopath, Serge keeps readers entertained with a unique brand of dark comedy, and more than a few educational facts about Florida history.

Make it Snappy: Snap Circuits @ the Library

snap-circuitsAre your kids interested in learning how electronics work? Do they like to build exciting projects? If so, Circuit Science could be the perfect program! During the Circuit Science program, kids will have the opportunity to construct five different circuit projects using Snap Circuits. Snap Circuits are mounted on plastic modules and snap together easily, helping children discover the basics of electrical circuits with ease.

Tween and Teen Card Making Class: Halloween

card-making-halloweenTweens and Teens can join miss Debbie for a fun-filled class creating handmade Halloween cards.  Learn special card making techniques, such as: rubber stamping, die cutting, punching, and embellishing.  Attendees will create two separate greeting cards to take home. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Coastal Region Library.

Preschool Stories: Stories and Yoga

kids-yogaStory time takes on new depth with the addition of yoga poses!  Yoga instructor Dawn Waltonbaugh will share books and tell stories that encourage children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers to connect with their breathing, transform their bodies into animals and elements in nature, and express themselves with a variety of creative movements.  Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
