Scams Presentation

sheriff-logoLee Alexander, Senior Affairs Coordinator and Seniors vs. Crime Officer Manager of Citrus County Sheriff's Office, will give a presentation on a wide range of scams to include phone scams, imposter scams, credit card scams, phishing scams with a focus on what is current in our county. The wide variety of scams discussed will cover such things as the IRS scam, the grandparent scam, the electric bill scam, the credit card transition scam, and many others. In addition, time permitting, other topics such as things to look fir when dealing with contractors.

Apple iPhone: Advanced

apple-iphoneIn this class we will learn some advanced features of Apple's iPhone. We'll cover some of the most commonly used features including apps, settings, the camera, and apps A question and answer session will follow. An e-mail address is required. Classes are free, but registration is required due to limited space.

Citizenship Classes

citizenship-3Do you dream of becoming an American citizen? Join us at the library for seven weeks of classes designed to teach individuals the skills they will need to pass the U.S.Naturalization exam.

Topics covered include: American history, the three branches of government, courts and the legal system, and famous Americans. The classes will also focus on speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Learners will receive sample test questions and have interview practice. Space is limited. Learners can register by calling Adult Literacy Services at (352)628-5626.

Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure seat and materials availability. Basic English skills are needed. Contact the library for assistance and more information.
