Wildlife Park To Celebrate Earth Day On Saturday, April 20
Learn about Florida’s environment with exhibits by many area clubs and organizations
Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection’s Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park will be focusing on Florida’s environment and its wildlife with a special Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 20, 2013. The event will include educational exhibits in the Garden of the Springs. The wildlife care department will also have interpretive carts set up throughout the park with educational information on many of the park’s animals. Bring the family out to enjoy the park and learn about our natural resources. Regular admission will apply for entrance into the Wildlife Park.
The Wildlife Park opens for the day at 9:00 am and visitors can enjoy the park and many Earth Day exhibits in the Garden of the Springs. Learn about manatees, big cats, native plants, bears, turtles, bees, water quality and recycling, and much more. Exhibitors include Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, Nature World Wildlife Rescue, Homosassa River Garden Club, Friends of Chassahowitzka Wildlife Refuge, Homosassa River Alliance, Save the Manatee Club, Big Cat Rescue, Melodie’s Bees, Boy Scouts, FDS Disposal, Inc. Withlacoochee State Trail, Keep Citrus Beautiful, and more. Exhibits will be set up from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
