Learn about Florida’s environment with exhibits by many area clubs and organizations

Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, and the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park will be celebrating Florida’s environment with a special Earth Day event on Saturday, April 19. The event includes an Easter Egg Hunt starting at 9:00 a.m., and educational exhibits and interpretive carts in the Garden of the Springs and along the Wildlife Walk. Bring the family out to enjoy the park and learn about our natural resources. Admission to the Park is $13 for adult; $5 for children ages 6 through 12; and free admission for children ages 5 and under. Admission includes an all-day visit to the Park and includes all the Earth Day activities.

The day’s activities start off with our annual Easter Egg Hunt and continue throughout the day. The Egg Hunt will be on the green behind the parking area at Park’s Visitor Center. Families should arrive early to register their children and enjoy meeting the Easter Bunny and other costumed characters. The Easter Egg Hunt begins at 9:00 a.m.

The Wildlife Park opens for the day at 9:00 a.m. and visitors can enjoy the park and many Earth Day exhibits in the Garden of the Springs. The Earth Day exhibits will be set up from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Interpretive carts will be set up along the Wildlife Walk with information on Black bears and panthers. Learn about bears, panthers, manatees, native plants, and much more.
