Wildlife Park To Celebrate Literacy Day September 8 With Free Admission With A Library Card Or Donated Book
Show your library card or donate a family-friendly book
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will offer free park admission for Literacy Day on September 8, 2013 when you present your library card, show a book borrowed from the library or donate a new or gently-used family-friendly book. Books will be donated to area libraries and schools.
Citrus County Library System volunteers will be available to assist visitors in signing up for a library card and to share information on library resources. They will be set up in the Visitor Center from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Volunteers from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Department will offer its Children’s Identification program in the Visitor Center from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. This complimentary service is an opportunity to have your child fingerprinted, videotaped and a DNA sample taken. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
