Join us Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Central Ridge Library from 7:00 -- 9:00 pm for the 2nd Annual Love Your Library Evening, sponsored by the Library Advisory Board.
Enjoy an evening of live music, wine, catered hors d'oeuvres, and silent auction.
Specialty baskets will also be raffled off, as well as a beautiful, handmade "Author" throw quilt. Tickets are $20 per person and are available at every library branch.
Each ticket includes two complimentary glasses of wine. There are three wine choices for the evening: cabernet, zinfandel, and chardonnay. Additional glasses are available with donation.
Wine is provided by Aspirations Winery, located in Tampa, Florida. Aspirations Winery has been in business since 2003, producing excellent, high quality wine made with imported grapes from grape-growing regions around the world, and prides itself on its smooth, low sulphite wine.
One of the most charming items to be raffled off during the evening is a handmade throw quilt, stitched with over 75 authors' names.
The quilt was created by Barbara Wilbur, who has this to say:
"Although I have been a sewer practically all my life, my quilting began 24 years ago for a grandchild. Now each grandchild receives a quilt when they graduate high school. I'm on my third sewing machine.
Through my quilt guilds I've contributed quilts to CASA, veterans hospitals, many babies, and now FOCCLS (Friends of the Citrus County Library System). Both my husband and I love sorting books for the semi-annual sales and are avid readers."
Also up for auction is something that will entice book collectors and historians--a 1976 edition of "Back Home" by Hampton Dunn. This hard to find work of local history is highly sought after, and this beautiful edition was donated by Friends of the Library members Leslie and Ken Fraze. We're very excited to have this wonderful item!
Each of the five Friends of the Library groups has also put together beautiful baskets filled with all sorts of delightful goodies.

The baskets will be raffled off throughout the evening and raffle tickets can be purchased at the event.
All proceeds from the silent auction and from the raffles go to the Citrus County Library Foundation, which raises funds for the long term needs of the library system.
Our special musical guest for the evening is the Citrus Jazz Society, who return from their widely hailed performance at last year's event.
The Citrus Jazz Society members are talented individuals who play a variety of music, from jazz and swing to Dixieland, and their lively tunes encourage dancing! The group has been performing since 1992; for more information on the Citrus Jazz Society, contact Tony Caruso at 352-795-9936.
Please join us for this fun, festive event and support strong libraries in your community!
For businesses or individuals interested in becoming sponsors, or to contribute items for the silent auction, please contact Library Administration at (352) 746-9077.
